Pest Management in Crops and Stored Grains provides a comprehensive and practical understanding of pest management principles in agricultural and storage ecosystems. The book covers the fundamentals of agricultural pest management, insect taxonomy, pest biology, host range, and crop-wise pest management strategies for field crops, vegetables, fruits, plantation crops, ornamentals, spices, and condiments. Special emphasis is given to stored grain protection, including insect and non-insect pests, storage structures, and scientific grain management practices.
The text also discusses household and structural pests, management of mites, snails, and slugs, and the safe use of insecticides and biorational pesticides. Advanced topics such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM), eco-friendly pest control approaches, drones, artificial intelligence, and modern monitoring technologies are included to address current agricultural challenges. Written in a simple and systematic manner, the book serves as a valuable resource for undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, extension workers, and professionals in agriculture, horticulture, and plant protection sciences.
